ஸ்ரீ விநாயகரின் அவதார திருநாளாக விநாயக புராணம் கூறும் சுபதினம். ஆவணி மாதம் பாத்ரபத சுக்ல சதுர்த்தி அன்று உலகம் முழுவதும் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. வீடுகளில் மண் பிள்ளையார் கொண்டும், கோயில்களில் அபிஷேகம், அர்ச்சனை செய்தும் வழிபடும் பண்பாடு உடையது விநாயகர் சதுர்த்தி நாள் ஆகும்.

The auspicious day in which Sri Vinayagar was born according to Vinayaga Purana. It is celebrated worldwide on Bhadrabada Shukla Chathurthi (4th day of the waxing moon in the month of Bhadrabada). At home, devotees worship Ganesha idols made of clay. At temples, Abhishegams (ablution) and Archanais are performed for Sri Vinayagar on this auspicious day.
